In response to the Environmental Protection Agency's efforts to reimpose a Superfund tax on petroleum and chemical makers, the American Chemistry Council has expressed disapproval of the measure, describing the initiative as a "lose-lose for the environment and the economy." EPA's proposal is also "in direct conflict with Congress' desire to grow U.S. jobs and President Obama's stated goal of doubling U.S. exports," ACC said. "The reimposition of Superfund taxes will simply give our foreign competitors, who don't pay the tax, yet another advantage."
