Australian actors are showing primary-school teachers how to use drama in their classroom lessons as part of a six-week professional-development program. The training is designed to show teachers how to improve reading, writing and speaking using drama -- a technique that succeeded in five inner-city schools. "It's all about teaching the teachers the skills of drama so they can be incorporated into the classroom," one actor said. "We devise a series of exercises specific to a text that gives the kids the opportunity to feel the book."
