Bog gardens are becoming popular with people who want an unusual addition to their landscape, writes Dean Fosdick. The bogs are wet meadows or depressions that have a sphagnum peat layer as part of the substrate. The best place for a big garden is a sunny, water-saturated site. The soil blend should be 80% coarse peat moss with 20% sand.
