The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is funding a four-year program for autism research at 11 study sites nationwide. The sites are all part of the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network, which aims to identify, track and compare the number of children with autism-spectrum disorders across different states. As part of the program, the University of Arizona's Steele Children's Research Center will receive $1.7 million.
