With Congress weighing proposals aimed at curtailing the $615 trillion over-the-counter derivatives market, Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Gary Gensler has been working hand in hand with lawmakers to make sure his voice is heard on key reform issues. SEC Chairman Mary Schapiro was absent from Thursday night's negotiations on Capitol Hill, but Gensler worked the halls talking with lawmakers and staff. "He wants to make sure his views are heard, that's why he has been so effective," Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., said of Gensler.
