The Tri-County Health Department in Colorado is closely monitoring potentially rabid skunks in the area to prevent the animals from spreading the disease to pets and horses. Since January, five skunks and a horse in Adams and Arapahoe counties have tested positive for the disease. "It's imperative that people keep their pets' rabies vaccinations current and up to date," a county health official said.
