A Kaiser Permanente study found that toddlers who were given the combination measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox vaccine were at greater risk of having a febrile seizure a week to 10 days after vaccination than those who got the MMR and the chickenpox vaccines separately. "Unless parents have a strong preference for the combination vaccine, providers should use a separate vaccine," the lead author said.
