A multimillion-dollar teaching and research building at Griffith University in Australia will be emission-free and self-powering when it is finished in 2012. The building will generate all its own power through solar-powered hydrogen energy. The solar panels will be transparent glass, and the building will be made of 30% recycled materials. The goal of the work in the building will be to create cross-disciplinary sustainability solutions that can "bridge the gap between environmental scientists and businesses," says one professor.
