Experts from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology are on a mission to document the impact of the oil slick on the bird population in Barataria Bay in Louisiana. In addition to oil-drenched pelicans they had earlier documented, they were able to capture images of a herring gull and a snowy egret, which experts say are most vulnerable because of the difficulty in catching and treating those birds.
