A study using PET/CT to scan pediatric patients with bone sarcoma and soft-tissue sarcomas found that the maximum standardized uptake value for FDG was higher in those with osteosarcoma than in those with Ewing's or soft-tissue sarcoma. The finding indicates "that treatment monitoring with FDG-PET/CT is feasible" for pediatric osteosarcoma patients, the lead author of the study said.
