A federal agency and a nonprofit have partnered to train inspectors to detect oil on seafood by using their noses. About 40 inspectors were trained recently at a facility in Mississippi, learning to sniff out the telltale scent of crude oil on shrimp, oysters and other seafood. Inspectors will be sent where needed to help ensure that seafood tainted by the Gulf oil spill doesn't make it into the food supply.
