Traditional playtime has been diminished in a growing number of nurseries located in England's schools, where children are instead learning to use computers and other technology. However, critics say that young children might not be ready for the Early Years Foundation Stage, which requires students to meet benchmarks in literacy, numeracy, problem-solving and social behaviour by the age of 5. Many private nurseries continue to allow more time for traditional play than public nurseries, according to a report.
