Drivers in the southern African country of Namibia are lining up to convert their vehicles to liquefied petroleum gas, according to Antonio Mendonca, the managing director of Autogas Namibia. Mendonca says that LPG produces 75% fewer emissions, provides no carbon buildup, and engines that run on it run more quietly. The company is offering free training to mechanics who want to learn to install and maintain LPG fuel systems.
