U.S. President Barack Obama has restarted debate on the country's energy future, although it is unclear how far such legislation would get in Congress. Lawmakers said the future of the initiative, widely considered dead until a BP well started spewing oil into the Gulf of Mexico, is in Obama's hands. "He needs to make it clear that this has to be a bold and comprehensive plan," said Sen. Mark Begich, D-Alaska.
