A group of Ohio high-school teachers participated in a workshop last week on an inquiry-based learning method that already has improved science test scores at one middle school. The training focused on how to encourage classroom discussion and experiments, rather than textbook learning, and another workshop is scheduled for August on chemistry. Ohio State University-Marion physics professor Gordon Aubrecht and the Science Center of Inquiry's Bill Schmitt led the workshop, showing teachers innovative ways to teach science lessons on motion.
