As expected, collective bargaining for TSA screeners was the main concern on Thursday as senators questioned John Pistole on his first day of confirmation hearings. Pistole refused to be pinned down on his union views, saying only that Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano had asked him to study the issue. Pistole is President Barack Obama's third nominee to head the agency; two earlier nominees withdrew their names from consideration.
