A study of diabetic mice at McGill University in Montreal may help uncover the reasons so many diabetic people experience heart disease and sudden cardiac death. "Diseases, such as diabetes, that disturb the function of the autonomic nervous system cause a wide range of abnormalities that include poor control of blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmias and digestive problems," Dr. Ellis Cooper, the senior author, said in a news release.
