A study of 200 boys and girls ages 8 to 17 showed boys eat more than girls and that boys in their midteens can chow down nearly 2,000 calories just at lunchtime. Researchers said girls had the biggest increase in caloric intake between ages 10 and 13, when they averaged about 1,300 calories during lunch.
