Ventas, a REIT that has focused on senior housing, is expanding its investment criteria to include medical-office buildings. Robert W. Baird analyst David Aubuchon thinks the REIT's medical-office revenue eventually could comprise 20% to 25% of total revenues from its current 5% allocation. "They and all their peers want to get into medical offices for diversification," he says.
