Millions of Americans suffer from food allergies, and improper training on serving guests with severe allergies can prove a recipe for disaster, experts say. A Massachusetts law, which will take effect in July, allows the state's Department of Public Health to designate "Food Allergy Friendly" restaurants, and proponents of the legislation hope it will spawn similar laws in other states. P.F. Chang's is a good example of a restaurant that puts the appropriate time and training into accommodating customers with dietary limitations, one expert said.
