U.S. freight railroads hauled 197,134 intermodal containers during the week ended July 3, pushing intermodal traffic levels to their highest levels in three years, according to the Association of American Railroads. Intermodal traffic was up 36.6%, buoyed in part by a favorable comparison to the year-ago week, which was shortened by the July 4 holiday.
