Companies that encourage employees to use smartphones to be more productive should rethink the strategy because the technology can become overused -- a 24/7 habit -- that can damage productivity and customer relationships and overload employees, Francis Wade writes. "Unfortunately, once we humans are hooked on a habit, it's hard to stop, and we end up employing it inappropriately, much to the annoyance of others in our lives," he writes.
