Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer insisted Monday that wireless devices are "a terribly important area for us" and promised those attending the company's Worldwide Partner Conference that a slew of upcoming devices, including tablets, would reverse the firm's sagging mobile-device fortunes. He assured the partners that Microsoft equivalents of popular smartphones were coming, adding that he was confident Windows Phone 7 software would find a strong reception among enterprise users.
