Ethanol industry groups welcomed two bills this week from Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, D-S.D., that seek to increase the availability of flex-fuel vehicles and ethanol blender pumps. The "common sense legislation" addresses the need to boost the availability and consumption of ethanol, said Bob Dinneen, president and CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association. "Introducing flexibility into the nation's fuel system" will "break the hold that petroleum has at the pump," said Brian Jennings, executive vice president of the American Coalition for Ethanol.
