Calor Gas, a well-known U.K. liquid propane gas supplier, is seeking to grow its operations by focusing on propane's clean-energy credentials. The company has established a "rural advice network" and advisers in the hope of convincing the 2 million U.K. homeowners who don't have access to the gas grid to use propane instead of oil or electricity. "We have been saying to government that if they want the U.K. to clean up its act, then switch to LPG," says managing director Stephen Rennie.
