A coalition of civil rights groups is expected to release today an education-reform plan that is critical of the Obama administration's efforts to provide an equal education for all children, Washington Post education writer Valerie Strauss writes in this blog post. The coalition alleges that the Race to the Top grant program puts low-income and minority students at a disadvantage; questions the promotion of charter schools; and reproaches the administration for not seeking more community and parental input on changes to the country's education policies, Strauss writes.
