Connecticut continues to push for high-speed rail, and Gov. M. Jodi Rell worked to rally support for a massive bond initiative this week by calling high-speed rail "the most important transportation initiative since the creation of the interstate highways." She called the state's high-speed rail plans "critical" to transportation infrastructure and the economy. The state bond commission is expected to approve a requested $260 million bond initiative to pay for rail improvements.
