The correlation between high unemployment and souring credit card loans has traditionally been tight, but chronic joblessness is distorting the situation. Capital One Financial, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Citigroup and other card issuers have been reporting an improvement in credit trends over the past few months. The situation is the result of some people who have been unemployed awhile having fallen out of the credit system.
