Disney plans to expand the number of schools it operates in China that teach students English, according to media reports. Eleven schools were piloted in Shanghai and Beijing where parents pay $2,200 a year for children to learn English for two hours each week, using a curriculum that features popular Disney characters. Disney hopes the schools will make $100 million in profits before taxes over five years and build consumers. The company hopes to expand to Brazil next.
