The American Farm Bureau Federation has called on the Obama administration to subject the EU to sanctions to force it to comply with the World Trade Organization's 2006 decision against the EU's de facto moratorium that hampers the approval and sale of new biotech crops in the region. "If the EU does not immediately begin to make timely, science-based regulatory decisions on pending and future applications, soybean exports also are at serious risk," the U.S. farm group said.
