Middle-class workers will see their take-home pay shrink at the end of this year if Congress doesn't act on President Barack Obama's proposal to extend the Making Work Pay tax credit. The measure boosts paychecks by reducing taxes withheld, with people earning less than $75,000 a year getting the full credit and those with a higher income receiving a partial credit.
