The number of high-school students enrolling in at least one online course increased from 14% to 27% from 2008 to 2009, a survey shows. The number of middle-school students taking online classes increased from 16% to 21% during the same time period. Many students who did not enroll in online courses cited lack of availability and affordability as deciding factors.
