Researchers using a new optical imaging method called Cerenkov luminescence imaging and PET to image tumors in mice found that CLI can image radiotracer absorption in vivo, as well as radionuclides that could not be imaged by other nuclear imaging methods before. CLI could allow for a quicker and more cost-effective way to develop diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, according to the study.
