In a study, lean and obese participants were given a pre-meal snack sweetened with stevia, aspartame or sucrose 20 minutes before a meal, then told to eat as much or as little as desired. Researchers found participants didn't eat more at lunch or dinner, and reported similar levels of satiety, regardless of which pre-meal snack they consumed.
