A KLAS study of 95 health care groups found that out of the dozens of vendors that offer health information exchange technology, just a few are frequently in the final rounds of consideration for purchasing decisions. "Technology, cost and integration were the selection criteria most often mentioned by prospective buyers, but evaluating those factors is especially difficult when most HIE vendors can point to only a handful of live deployments," the report's author said.
