A number of nonprofit groups in southern Nevada are providing summer camps for children who have been affected by serious illnesses or other special needs. The programs aim to unite children who have had similar experiences and reduce the isolation some may feel, as well as give them a break from the day-to-day realities they face. "It's sort of like a vacation from thinking about it all the time, which is sort of ironic because it's a camp for that," one camper said.
