Good Earth Tea, a division of Tata Global Beverages, is partnering with EMI Music to offer customers a free music download when they buy a box of tea. "EMI's musical lineup is as distinctive as our teas," said a Tata marketing official of the program, which offers more than 200,000 songs for download.
Tetley Tea has updated the look of its packaging, while keeping its signature blue color. "The new design leverages our brand strength with consumers on a worldwide basis, while continuing the strong positive emotions people have for Tetley Tea on a local level," said a spokeswoman with parent company Tata Global Beverages.
Kraft Foods will sell Romania-based Kandia-Excelent, a maker of chocolate, cakes and other confections under the brand names Rom, Kandia, Laura, Magura, Sugus and Silvana. The sale is required by the European Commission as part of Kraft's purchase of Cadbury.
Coca-Cola, which purchased a stake in Honest Tea in 2008 and is expected to acquire the entire company in the near future, has urged Honest Tea founder Seth Goldman to change the "no high-fructose corn syrup" wording on its Honest Kids labels. The two sides are working to resolve the issue.
