Nestle is promoting its Wonka brand for Halloween with a campaign that includes a social gaming experience, two sweepstakes and a candy exchange allowing trick-or-treaters to trade in candy they don't want for Wonka candy. Prizes for the sweepstakes are a $10,000 home entertainment package, or a trip for four to Los Angeles for the Dream Halloween fundraiser.
Nestlé is set to build factories in Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mozambique, and will expand existing factories in Africa. "Nestlé is committed to unlock the business opportunities and to promote growth in Equatorial Africa," said CEO Paul Bulcke. "With 400 million people and an emerging middle class with rising purchasing power, this region has major potential for Nestlé."
Researchers say drinks sweetened with sugar provide more stress relief than ones with artificial sweeteners. The sugar appears to provide an energy boost to the brain that helps to prevent aggressive impulses, they say.
Renowned chocolate maker Jacques Torres offered a tour of his New York City factory, where chocolate is created from beans purchased all over the world. The factory has a walk-in oven, movie theater popcorn popper and a machine once used to smooth lipsticks, that now refines peanut butter and marzipan.
