A growing number of New York-based restaurants are looking to grow in the nation's capital, taking advantage of Washington, D.C.'s lower rents to raise their profiles outside of Manhattan. Celebrity chef Bobby Flay and well-known restaurateur Danny Meyer are both in the midst of opening D.C. burger joints, and well-known brands including P.J. Clarke's and Carmine's are also setting up shop.
