Michael and Joy Michaud, owners of Sea Spring Seeds in the U.K., have developed a pepper called Dorset naga, which appears to be the hottest in the world. It tested at 1.6 million Scoville heat units, compared with 2,500 to 8,000 for jalapenos and just over 1 million for the 2007 Guinness World Record holder, the bhut jolokia pepper.
