A ceremony Thursday marked the first day of construction for the Biomass Innovation Park in Vonore, Tenn. The 21-acre park, which is being developed by Genera Energy and the University of Tennessee, is expected to host researchers looking to develop feedstocks, including switchgrass, for cellulosic-ethanol production. The first phase of construction is expected to be completed in time for the switchgrass harvest this fall.
