Ravee Padte, a second-year veterinary student who served as a veterinary assistant at the Princeton Animal Hospital during college, said being a minority and lack of experience with animals did not
prevent him from pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. Padte, who was chosen to be one of the recipients of a 2010 Pfizer Animal Health Veterinary Scholarship, serves as a representative of AVMA's student chapter at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.
