The public-comment period has closed for the Environmental Protection Agency's proposed 2011 volume requirements for the Renewable Fuel Standard, with a majority of biofuel producers reportedly accepting a lower cellulosic-production target of between 5 million and 17.1 million gallons. However, some advanced-biofuel developers, including Abengoa Bioenergy U.S. Holding and DuPont Danisco, said that continually tampering with the cellulosic mandate would erode investor confidence in the industry.
