In its latest effort to expand enforcement of the existing Toxic Substances Control Act, the Environmental Protection Agency has proposed a rule that would require greater disclosure and more prompt reporting for chemical producers. The proposal, which makes use of the Inventory Update Reporting provision of TSCA, will ask companies moving at least 11.3 metric tons of TSCA-inventory chemicals to report such activity for the past four years. The rule is expected to be implemented next year.
