International demand for cast polymers may see an 8.7% annual increase until the end of 2014, as the vibrant construction sectors of developing countries fuel demand, market-research firm Freedonia Group said this past week. The rapid growth in demand reportedly comes from the emergence of low-cost Asian producers targeting cast-polymers exports. Annual demand for the material is expected to be about 2.76 billion square feet by 2014, 70% of which will come from the Asia Pacific region, the research firm added.
