Hostess is introducing whole-grain muffins in blueberry, chocolate chip and banana-nut. The company says the muffins contain fiber and have about 150 calories per serving.
Whole-grain muffins made with whole wheat pastry flour and fruit or vegetable purees are moist and have a better flavor than traditional whole wheat muffins. The dough requires minimal handling and lends itself to variations.
Sara Lee has added whole-grain mini bagels to its line of Soft & Smooth products. The bagels have 100 calories each and will be available in 100% whole-grain blueberry, cinnamon or plain.
