U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood visited the Transportation Technology Center, in Pueblo, Colo. The TTC, run jointly by the Federal Railroad Administration and the Association of American Railroads, tests freight and passenger railcars, vehicle and track components, safety devices and other machinery. The site may become a testing center for U.S. high-speed trains. "In the future, as American high speed rail gets off the ground, the center hopes to upgrade its test track to be able to test technology at speeds up to at least 200 miles per hour," LaHood writes in this blog.
