A 45-day test at Mineta San Jose International Airport in California will help the Transportation Security Administration decide whether to expand a state-of-the-art baggage screening system to other airports. The $45 million Morpho Detection system uses 3D imaging and software to speed up baggage screening, officials report. The system appears to deliver on its promises, despite some minor hangups during a trial in June, said airport spokesman David Vossbrink.
