MySpace, which has been overshadowed by newer social-media rivals Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare, is trying to differentiate itself as a "social-activation platform" that helps connects brands with consumers, via their favorite activities. Among MySpace's new initiatives is a partnership with Wendy's, which is backing a series of contests that provide music fans with free tickets to see a favorite artist.
