An Oklahoma middle school has provided new Apple MacBooks for its 194 incoming eighth-graders -- paid for with $189,000 in federal Title I funds. The grant money was also used to purchase laptops for 20 elementary-school students and to provide training in the technology. "We believe students can really excel with the use of a laptop and a thinking, caring teacher on the other side of it guiding the content and how they use it," one administrator said.
